Nardin Academy has named Dr. Eric Miles its 28th president. He will begin this role on July 1, 2025.
Dr. Miles currently serves as the Head of School at Brandon Academy in Brandon, Fla., where he has successfully overseen a college preparatory program for grades JK-12 since 2020.
There, his strategic initiatives have led to the transformation of the school's academic model—shifting to an AP curriculum that now includes 14 new courses—strengthened college counseling services, increased student enrollment, record-breaking annual gifts, and the enhancement of STEAM funding.
“Eric’s extensive educational leadership experience led him to be unanimously selected by the board of trustees, and we are thrilled to welcome him to the Nardin family,” said board chair Marsha Joy Sullivan.
Miles’s earlier roles include Upper School Director at Cape Fear Academy in North Carolina and Head of Upper School at Community School of Naples, Fla.
“I am deeply honored to join Nardin Academy as President and am inspired by the strength and resilience of this community,” said Miles. “Together, we will continue to build on its legacy of academic excellence and uphold the Academy’s rich traditions while embracing the possibilities that lie ahead.”
“Since 1857, Nardin has prospered by remaining true to the principles upon which it was founded, and Eric's personal values and professional commitment to academic excellence and service uniquely position him to mindfully advance Nardin’s mission,” said Anita Baird, US Provincial of the Daughters of the Heart of Mary, Nardin’s founding religious order.
“Nardin holds the future in every classroom, and I am committed to leading with integrity, creativity, and a vision that reflects Nardin's core values,” added Miles.
“I am excited to spend time with Dr. Miles and work with him on a smooth transition,” said current Nardin President Rebecca Reeder. “I have the utmost confidence in his ability to lead Nardin to continued success in the future.”
Outside of work, Dr. Miles cherishes quality time with his wife, Heather, of 26 years and their three sons who are all serving in the U.S. military. Heather has 16 years of experience teaching lower and
middle school at Catholic and independent schools.
