Nardin Academy is seeking a Nursing Clinic/Health Office Director for the 2025-2026 school year. The Nursing Clinic Director requires professional knowledge to meet the health needs of the students and employees of Nardin Academy. The position requires an individual who uses preventative health approaches and health assessments to facilitate early detection and correction of health problems with the aim of preventing illness. The Director promotes the health development of the whole child.
 
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to assist in the development of policies, programs, and procedures for the provision of school health services and to implement school programs to meet students’ health needs.
  • Working as part of the school safety committee to address the full range of emergency incidents that may occur at school.
  • Working with others in preventative health, health assessment, and referral procedures.
  • Adhering to professional standards of respectful, confidential, individualized, developmentally appropriate, and culturally competent practice.
  • Communication, consultation, and collaboration with students, families, staff, and community partners.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Logs each student visit with a brief description of the problem; notes any action taken.
  • Receives signature for pickup of dismissed student, or, in the case of a driving high school student, receives written approval to release student.
  • Logs prescription medications and maintains with a copy of the physician’s order and a note signed by the parent/guardian.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date physical and immunization information on each enrolled student.
  • Maintains a listing of students with allergy or serious health issues for rapid reference.
  • Audit and preparation of any reports required (such as incident reports and monthly summary).
  • Orders of supplies as needed.
  • Prepare medical bags for school field trips and clubs as needed.
  • Coordinates annual vision and hearing testing schedule.
  • Maintains the confidentiality and security of all records under the care of the clinic.
  • Leads annual body safety class in Lower and Middle Schools.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Current CPR Certification
 
Working Conditions
 
The work environment is a healthcare office. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate, but occasionally high depending upon student population and activities. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions and/or outdoor weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens.
 
Physical Requirements
 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus and peripheral vision.
 
Wage
 
$55,000 - $60,000 annually
