Nardin Academy is seeking a Middle School Physical Education & Health Teacher for the 2025/2026 school year. The teacher is expected to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Supports the mission and goals of Nardin Academy
- Establishes and maintains cooperative and effective working relationships with others
- Maintains regular, open communication with parents, faculty, and administration
- Communicates effectively orally and in writing
- Demonstrates strong organizational and classroom management abilities
- Plans for the developmental needs of the children on an individual and group level in the areas of academic, emotional, social, and psychomotor growth
- Demonstrates strong content knowledge as well as the ability to employ various instructional practices
- Plans, prepares, and executes curriculum in an age-appropriate manner
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of Google Suite, Blackbaud, Atlas and Schoology

- Establish professional relationships with colleagues and parents, working cooperatively to always meet the needs of the children
- Designs curriculum areas to educate at an elevated level, optimize exposure and foster confidence
- Prepares an environment to facilitate the learning needs of all children
- Demonstrates excellent planning and preparation for individualized and group instruction
- Differentiate instructions where applicable
- Manages time effectively while fulfilling curricular expectations
- Demonstrates excellent organizational, observational and classroom management skills
- Teaches, motivates, and encourages students to develop good habits academically, nutritionally, physically, socially, and emotionally
- Monitors student progress and development
- Maintains and updates thorough academic records
- Maintains physical education equipment and supplies to safety standards
- Maintains sufficient inventory of supplies that are in good working order
- Maintains professional credentials as appropriate
- Performs all other related work, delegated, or required, to accomplish the objectives of the total school program

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/master’s degree from an accredited institution
- NYS or comparable certification in teaching
- Previous teaching experience in a professional setting is preferred
Working Conditions
The work environment is a standard classroom setting. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate, but occasionally high depending upon student population and activities. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions and/or outdoor weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus and peripheral vision.
Wage
$ 36,000- $42,000 annually
