Nardin Academy is seeking a few candidates for Athletic Facility Assistant. The role of the Athletic Facility Assistant is to reasonably meet the needs of all Nardin Academy athletic facilities’ guests and customers, including assisting the Athletic Complex Manager in the day- to-day operations of the 230,000 square foot Kevin T. Keane Sports Park at Nardin Academy’s indoor Nardin Academy Athletic Center, including the Montante Family Squash Center and Sisters Field, and newly built Nardin Community Athletic Complex.
Duties & Responsibilities
Facility/Event Management
- Assist in the day-to-day operations to ensure all Nardin Academy athletic facilities and events are well operated, maintained, and secured.
- Ensure that all user groups and members are adhering to all Nardin Academy athletic facilities’ rules and regulations
- Manage and understand how to use the facilities’ cloud based recreation management software system
- Help manage the scheduling and setup/breakdown of athletic and special events that take place, including understanding the scheduling, invoicing, and administrative operations needed to carry-out such events
- Adhere to all emergency procedures during times of need
- Ensure that all athletic facility equipment is properly maintained, stored and managed
- Properly open and close all athletic facilities during the assigned shift
- Present the facility to the public with exceptional cleanliness and in an organized, well maintained fashion at all times
- Report all maintenance and safety issues to the Athletic Complex Manager
Customer Relations
- Properly check in and provide quality customer service to all guests of the Nardin athletic facilities
- Assist members, user groups, and team/league managers with the completion of appropriate documentation
- Meet one-on-one with event contacts before, during, and after the event to ensure that completion and satisfaction of the event have been met
- Have knowledge of all programs and membership options, including but not limited to squash memberships, lessons, camps, and clinic pricing
- Maintain a positive attitude, take initiative, and work as a cohesive team with all staff members to ensure efficiency and camaraderie.
- Address any concerns regarding room set-ups, additional customer needs, or last-minute reservations
- Provide and promote a safe and friendly environment for all customers, guests and employees

Skill set and Abilities

- Must be able to lift at times 50-60 pounds of athletic equipment
- Weekend, Weeknight, and occasional Holiday availability
Qualifications
- Experience in facility operations preferred
- Strong organizational skills required
- Excellent customer service skills
- Experience in an athletic facility is preferred
- Experience in/with Squash is desirable
- College degree preferred
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (must be obtained within 60 days of hire)
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds of athletic equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus and peripheral vision.
Wage
$15.00 per hour.
