Nardin Academy is seeking a candidate for the Girls Junior Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach position. The Girls Junior Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach is expected to adhere to Nardin Academy’s sports philosophy. Directs, organizes and administers the JV Basketball team in conjunction with the Head Coach within Nardin Academy’s athletics program; organize practices; teaches basketball skills, personal responsibility and teamwork; responsible for all aspects of coaching.
Responsibilities
- Support Nardin Academy’s mission.
- Understand that the goals and objectives of the entire athletics program, including the welfare, development and safety of the student-athletes are more important than those of any one sport.
- Participate in meetings including pre-season coaches, pre-season parents, and any league coach gatherings.
- Conduct practices on days when there are no competitions, and allow for at least two days off per week.
- Responsible for all agenda items handouts, coaches’ notebooks and checklists covered in the pre-season coaches meeting.
- Be familiar with and follow the policies and procedures listed in Nardin Academy’s athletics handbook and coach’s manual; adhere to the Monsignor Martin High School Athletic Association standards.
- Assist the admissions office in identifying prospective students

Qualifications and Requirements
Playing or coaching experience at the high school or college level.
In order to be able to coach, these certifications are required:
- CPR/AED/First Aid
- Heads Up Concussion
- Virtus through the Catholic Diocese
These certifications can be provided through Nardin Academy.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds of athletic equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus and peripheral vision.
Wage
Part-time, paid by stipend of $1,173
