Nardin Academy is seeking a School Van/Bus Driver. The driver is a professional who transports students for extracurricular events. They maintain a clean van at all times and obey traffic laws while transporting students. The candidate must have a CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with Passenger Transport Endorsement.
Responsibilities
 
  • Routinely checking vehicle (20 passenger van) safety such as tires, brakes, turn signals and mechanical equipment.
  • Transport students and other applicable staff for extracurricular school events.
  • Obey all traffic laws to ensure students arrive at their destination safely.
  • Engage with students as they enter and leave the van.
  • Ensure the safety of all students when entering and leaving the van.
  • Assist students with getting on and off the van as needed.
  • Being attentive to traffic and weather conditions and ensuring passenger safety.
  • Following the planned route and schedule for departure times and stops.

Qualifications and Requirements
 
  • Preferred work experience as a Van/Bus Driver or similar role.
  • Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations within the last five years.
  • Two or more years of experience working with children preferred.
  • Ability to carry out assigned route on time.
  • Must have a Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger Transport Endorsement. – Please confirm this on the resume or within the cover letter.

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus and peripheral vision.

Wage and Work Schedule
 
$25.00 per hour.  Must be able to work 3pm – 5pm Monday through Friday.
There may be an occasional need outside of those hours, if the candidate is available (early sports trips and possibly field trips).  Retirees are encouraged to apply.
