Nardin Academy is seeking a candidate for the Varsity Girls Softball Coach position.  The Varsity Girls Softball Coach is expected to adhere to Nardin Academy’s sports philosophy. Directs, organizes, and administers the varsity softball team within Nardin Academy’s athletics program; organizes practices; teaches softball skills, personal responsibility and teamwork; responsible for all aspects of coaching.
 
The overall direction of each sport lies with the varsity head coach. This includes hiring and evaluating assistants. The season runs from March through June 2025.
 
Responsibilities
 
  • Support Nardin Academy’s mission.
  • Understand that the goals and objectives of the entire athletics program, including the welfare, development and safety of the student-athletes are more important than those of any one sport.
  • Participate in meetings including pre-season coaches, pre-season parents, and any league coach gatherings.
  • Conduct practices on days when there are no competitions and allow for at least two days off per week.
  • Responsible for all agenda items handouts, coaches’ notebooks and checklists covered in the pre-season coaches meeting.
  • Be familiar with and follow the policies and procedures listed in Nardin Academy’s athletics handbook and coach’s manual; adhere to the Monsignor Martin High School Athletic Association standards.
  • Remain with student-athletes until practices and contests are completed and all student-athletes have been picked up.

Qualifications and Requirements
 
Previous playing or coaching experience at the high school or college level and/or experience coaching high level club program.
 
In order to be able to coach, these certifications are required:
  • CPR/AED/First Aid
  • Heads Up Concussion
  • Virtus through the Catholic Diocese 
These certifications can be provided through Nardin Academy.
 
 
Wage
Part-time, paid by stipend of $3,060
